RUNNERS from a village club have gone the extra mile to raise money for a number of good causes.

M embers of Pewsey Vale Running Club presented £6,500 to a number of charities. Money was raised from running events held throughout the last year.

They gathered at the Golden Swan at Wilcot, near Pewsey, to hand over the cash to Pewsey Guides, 1st Pewsey Scouts, Salisbury women’s refuge, Devizes & District Blind & Partially Sighted Club, Kennet Gateway Club, Pathfinders, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, Devizes Food Bank, St John’s church roof fund and Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

The club was formed 30 years ago and since then it has raised £80,000 for charity.

Founding members Mark Anderson, Richard Pearce and Derek Drewitt are still active members of the club.
