A CHIPPENHAM firm received an accolade for their work at last Friday’s Wiltshire Business Awards.

Bechtle Direct popped champagne and celebrated on-stage when they won the Outstanding Excellence Award sponsored by Thrings Solicitors at the black tie event at Center Parcs, Longleat Forest, Warminster, on May 10.

The staff of the Chippenham firm based at Turnpike House celebrated on-stage as they picked up the award, while Appsbroker were placed second in the section.

Bechtle Direct’s boss James Napp said he was delighted to have won the award.

Another local Wiltshire company to do well was the NCAB Group from Devizes.

The firm came in third in the same section which sales director Ryan Pellow said was a excellent achievement for the whole team.

The firm’s managing director Howard Goff received the award for business personality of the year.

Mr Goff said he was overwhelmed with the accolade saying it had been a wonderful evening.

Mr Pellow said: “It was the first time we have entered the awards and we found it a fantastic experience.

“From meeting the judges through to the evening it was a really good process and we shall support it again.”

The BC Wiltshire Services to the Community Award went to Gooding Accounts won, with the Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Football Club taking second spot.

Graham Rogers from BBC Wiltshire hosted the evening which saw some of the best known firms represented along with new start-up concerns vying for recognition.

Mr Rogers said: “Wiltshire remains a fantastic place to be in business.

"This is a celebration of all your achievements and success with even more awards than ever before.”

Money raised at the event went towards supporting the Parkinson’s UK charity.

The Wiltshire Business of the Year Awards are developed by Newsquest Wiltshire.
