AN exhibition by Calne artist Sarah Purvey has opened at Chippenham Museum.

Entitled A Decade On, the drawing and sculpture of Sarah Purvey is part of the Artspace@Chippenaham Museum, an annual season dedicated to showcasing the best of new and local art.

Collections and exhibitions officer, Alan Fuller said: “Chippenham Museum is excited to be able to launch its latest exhibition series with the work of artist Sarah Purvey.

"We hope this and the other exhibitions in the season will draw attention to the sheer breadth and depth of creativity that can be discovered in the local area”

The show runs to May 17, when the next exhibition is Enchanted: the Magic of Nature (18-31 May), followed by Doreen Heaton Potworowska (1–14 June), and then Perception: Viewing the world differently (15–28 June).

Sarah Purvey exhibits her work both nationally & internationally and her work has also featured in the Threadneedle Prize, the RWA Bristol and The Bath Society of Artists at the Victoria Art Gallery, Bath.

Chippenham Museum is free to visit and tells the story of the people and history of Chippenham and surrounding villages from prehistoric times up until the present day.
