A CHIPPENHAM man plans to perform a wing walk this month to raise cash for the air ambulance but he's already faced a far more daunting task.

To be allowed to do a wing walk Oli Sheppard has had to lose two stone in two months.

He had to come down from a chunky 15.5 stone to the wing walk weight of 13.4 stone which he has achieved by cutting back on sugar and carbs and sticking to a low calorie diet ahead of a walk on May 18. Mr Sheppard is part of a family firm in Chippenham that installs kitchens, bathrooms and flooring. The father and son team of J Sheppard and Son support the Wiltshire Air Ambulance service by donating £50 for each bathroom and kitchen they install.

"It's a great cause," he said, "losing the weight I admit was a challenge but it has been worth the pain to help support the air ambulance."
