HAIRDRESSERS at a Devizes salon are doing their bit to help women suffering from the effects of hair loss due to cancer treatment.
Sarah Hatcher, who owns Heads on High in St Johns Street, Devizes has launched a new service in a bid to make women feel just a bit better.
She said: "Cancer is devastating. Sufferers are hit in so many different ways, not only by the disease itself, but also by the treatment. It can seem like a blow from all sides, and your self confidence can often take a knock.
"Heads on High is starting to open on the first Monday of each month especially for cancer sufferers, so they can have hair that is growing back after chemo styled, heads shaved if necessary and wigs styled and fitted in private as its embarrassing for some people going in when others are there.
"We decided it is time to do what we can to help. We can't cure the illness or take a way the fear, no matter how much we wish we could, but we can help to give a little bit of you back."
