IT was cheers for the beers when ales of all varieties went down a treat in a village near Devizes on Saturday.

The event which is one of the most eagerly awaited by villagers and those who travel especially to sample the beer and listen to the music in the chilled out surroundings of Seend.

This Saturday the weather itself may have been a little more chilly than some would have liked but things warmed up nicely as the afternoon went on and the music got people on their feet.

Among those enjoying the atmosphere was the Blue Rose Band who took to social media to say: "What a great beer festival it was! We had great fun playing for you. Thank you Richard for booking us, hope to see you all again soon."

Beer lovers started arriving at noon and many were still there when the doors closed at the community hall and marquee at 11pm.

A total of 32 beers and ciders were on offer and there was also a chance to enjoy a pig roast and barbecue. Others brought along their own picnics.

One lady whose day could have been ruined when she left her bag behind took to social media to thank someone who handed it in.

Organisers were delighted with the way the day went and said: "A great big thank you to everyone who helped set up, run and clear up at the beer festival.

"Thanks also to all who came. We hope everyone a great time. See you next year."

The date for the 2020 festival has been set for May 2.
