A quick reminder that the line between Newbury and Westbury will be closed from Saturday 4 May to Bank Holiday Monday 6 May to allow Network Rail to replace the bridge at Barnard’s Lock, between Newbury and Kintbury.

This will mean long distance services between London and the South West will be diverted through Swindon and journey times will vary.  Buses will operate between Swindon and Pewsey and will also replace trains for local journeys between Newbury and Bedwyn.

Trains will run between Newbury and Reading, but departure times may be different, and we are asking customers to check times before they travel.

The work will be completed over the Bank Holiday weekend to cause the least disruption, and we have alerted customers through on board and station information as well as social and traditional media.
