MALMESBURY League of Friends (MLOF) has purchased 14 new laptop computers, at a cost of £7,500, for use by nurses at Devizes-based charity Julia’s House.

The new laptops will enable the nurses’ IT equipment to be upgraded, providing improved access to its patient database, wherever they are working.

This will allow the nurses to access each child’s care plan and to update notes immediately.

Julia’s House has been caring for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions in Dorset for 15 years and, in 2017, helped by a donation of £25,000 from MLOF, it opened its second hospice in Devizes.

Mark Edwards, Julia’s House chief executive, said: “We are enormously grateful for this second donation from MLOF. By increasing our efficiency, reducing administration and working smarter, our wonderful nurses will be able to devote even more time to the children and their families who so desperately need our care.”
