A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after a man's leg was crushed in an alleged car park hit-and-run.

It follows an incident on Good Friday, when a man in his late 40s was attacked outside the Spotted Cow pub shortly after 11pm.

A car, believed to have been a white VW Golf, was driven at the man. It did not stop at the scene.

The victim sustained serious leg injuries and was taken to hospital.

Following the incident, Det Sgt Adrian Bray of Swindon CID, said: “This victim in this case has been seriously injured as a result of being driven at in the pub car park just after closing time. It is believed that the victim and the suspect were known to each other and that this is not a random occurrence."

A man, 38, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm earlier this afternoon. He was taken to Gablecross police station.
