EMERGENCY services were kept busy last weekend after a car crash blocked the main road at Sherston and in a separate incident a hit a house near Chippenham.

Police were called to Silver Street, in Kington Langley, at around 10.30am on April 13, when a blue Toyota Yaris had collided with the front of a house.

The fire service sent out an inspector to check the structural safety of the building until an engineer arrived.

An ambulance crew and a senior paramedic attended the incident and two patients were treated at the scene. Their injuries were not thought to be serious said the ambulance service.

Tony Shepherd of Kington Langley said he understood the accident happened when the elderly female motorist pressed the accelerator pedal instead of the brake as she left Dovey's Terrace turning onto Silver Street.
