WILTSHIRE will remember the ANZACs in Chippenham on Wednesday, April 24, with the Air Scouts.
The Australian and New Zealand armed forces of the First World War are better known as the ANZACs who served in all theatres of war but in particular the Gallipoli landings in Turkey.
At 7pm next Wednesday, the10th Chippenham Air Scouts will be conducting a short Act of Remembrance to honour those men of Chippenham killed serving with Australian and New Zealand Forces at the war memorial.
Those to be remembered were born in Chippenham and served during the First World War and are Thomas Brinkworth, Stanley Beaconsfield Collett and George William Fields.
Poppy crosses will be laid by the Scouts in the presence of members of the Chippenham Branch of the Royal British Legion and a representative from Chippenham Town Council. The Last Post will be played by the Scout Bugler while afterwards the Scouts will be baking ANZAC biscuits.
