Marlborough's Anastasia Quinton-Smith put up a fighting performance in last night's final of All Together Now on the TV but couldn't match winner Shellyann Evans.

Miss Quinton-Smith, 26, who grew up in Great Bedwyn and went to St John's School is hoping exposure on the BBC show will push her career forward.

The singing contest fronted by Spice Girl Geri Horner and comedian Rob Beckett has a judging panel of 100 who stand up if they like a song. It was filmed back in September but Anastasia has not been able to talk about how she did.

Now she is hoping that the publicity of the last few weeks will help win parts in shows. She said: "I have had a few opportunities in the past few months but I am hoping this will help my career."

Shellyann managed to get all 100 on their feet during Saturday night's show and took the £50,000 prize.
