WILTSHIRE Artists held their annual exhibition within the hallowed portals of St Peter's Church in Marlborough last week.

Organisers David and Yvonne Auld from Derry Hill said there had been strong interest from the public who visited the cafe and craft stalls with some sales made.

The artists are a mix of amateurs and professionals who work in a variety of media.

David Auld said: "It's an eclectic mix with pastels, sculpture, oils and water colours. Some are reflections of the landscape in Wiltshire while some are of scenes and themes from further afield."

Mr Auld was exhibiting his painting of Marlborough's town hall showing the iconic building on a late and slightly damp afternoon in winter.

He used acrylics mixed with some collage in a freestyle usage of materials and paint.

His wife Yvonne painted sunflowers which evoked Van Gogh's famous painting but in her own style.
