Cllr Robert Merrick in Calne
TOURISM will be top of the agenda for the next mayor of Calne.
Current deputy mayor Cllr Robert Merrick said with the Great West Way tourist initiative and the town located between a number of attractions it was important to bring in more visitors.
He said the renovated Lansdown Hotel, the Heritage Centre and Heritage Quarter along with the park, shops, the Summer Festival and Carnival and the Calne Music and Arts Festival made the town attractive place to visit.
It would be down to succesfully marketing the town and taking pride in Calne that would be one of his top priorities next year.
