THE Wheatsheaf pub in Chilton Foliat has donated £1,200 to Chilton Foliat Primary School, following a fundraising initiative which has asked diners to contribute a voluntary donation of £1 at the end of their meal.
The funds raised through the scheme will help the school pay for a complete re-vamp of the playground lines in the school playground with colourful and durable thermoplastic markings, making it a fun and interactive place for the children to let off steam during play time.
Ollie Hunter, owner of The Wheatsheaf, said: “We are delighted to support the local community through our voluntary £1 donation initiative for Chilton Foliat Primary School, which has really resonated with our customers.
“ Indeed, we have been so pleased with the amount raised for the school so far that we have decided to continue the scheme for the foreseeable future.”
Headteacher Katie Turner, said: “We are thrilled that The Wheatsheaf is able to support our fundraising in this way and we are very grateful to Ollie and his wife.”
