SPRING lambs are appearing as quickly as spring flowers at Lackham and the public are loving the new born cuddly creatures.

The college’s farm is open to the public this coming weekend: Saturday 30, and Sunday, 31 March 2019, at Lackham Campus, Lacock.

The opening times are 10am-5pm, with last entry at 4pm.

Their Lambing Weekends are an annual event that draw in thousands of visitors who also enjoy seeing the cows being milked and all the other farm animals.

The agricultural students will spend the weekend lambing while onlookers see how it's done.

Wiltshire College has already seen more than 100 lambs born this year and it is thought that another few hundred will be born this and next month, many of which will be born this weekend under the watchful eye of hundreds of spectators.

Visitors can see the ewes with their new-born lambs (maybe even see one being born) as well as seeing the the calves, cows, pigs, sheep and other animals.

One of the highlights for many children is to see the dairy herd being milked in the parlour.

There are also tractor and trailer rides for the more adventurous with a mini tour of the farm and children can meet Tractor Ted.

The farm also has children's fairground rides to help complete the family day out.

All proceeds going to the maintenance and improvement of facilities for college students.

The college say they advise wearing suitable footwear, as you will be visiting a working farm where the ground can be uneven, wet and muddy.

After visiting the farm and/or handling the animals, visitors should wash their hands at wash stations and pregnant women are advised not to visit the lambs.

Dogs are not allowed on the farm unless they are registered Assistance Dogs.
