WILTSHIRE High Sheriff Nicky Alberry was at Community Junction in Aldbourne to present the village youth council with an award to recognise its work in the community.
Matt Lambert the chairman of trustees of Aldbourne Youth Council said: "Her award recognising its provision of 'great and valuable services to the community'."
"She commented that the youth council's recreational facilities for young people are unique in Wiltshire, there being few remaining independent organisations which provide a safe, caring environment for our youth.
"She acknowledged that it does so due to the significant efforts and generosity of its friends and helpers, and she encouraged the local community to continue to support with time, ideas and donations."
The organisation is gearing up to once again hold Aldbourne’s car boot sale at Southward Lane Football Pitch on April 28.
