A SCHOOL boy has been critically injured in Chippenham this morning when he was in collision with a car.
The 12-year-old boy was cycling when he was struck by a car in Hill Rise at around 9.40am today (Tuesday, March 19, 2019).
The boy was taken to Bristol Children's Hospital with serious injuries and is in a critical condition said Police.
They said his family have been informed and have been taken to hospital to be with their son.
Police said: "The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is assisting us with our enquiries.
"Hill Rise is currently closed and is likely to remain so for a number of hours while investigative work takes place."
Hill Rise is on the north side of the town linking Greenway Lane and Barrow Green.
Police said anyone with information is asked to call Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting Log 69 of today (19/03/19).
