ROCKER Jim Smith has handed over a cheque for £404 to Devizes and District Opportunity Centre after joining forces with Wadworth to stage a fundraising event at the brewery’s visitor centre.
Mr Smith’s band Rockhoppaz attracted a big audience for the evening back in February and now he has presented the cash raised to the charity which supports children with special needs and also offers back up to parents.
Mr Smith said: "The money was raised for this most worthwhile of local organisations through and evening event at which my band played.
" I am extremely grateful to Michelle Field, manager of the Wadworth Visitors Centre, for hosting the event.
"The evening successfully raised £404 through a combination of ticket sales, raffle and donations to help fund the vital support given to pre school children with additional needs."
The centre in Bellevue Road, Devizes takes children from nought to five years and offers expert care.
