STAFF and sixth form students are practising some fancy footwork ready for the fourth Strictly Sheldon dancing contest, to raise money for Comic Relief.

Strictly Sheldon pits seven sixth form couples against seven staff couples in a glittering evening event, beginning at 6.30pm on Friday March 15. As a school this event has raised over £10,000 for Comic and Sport Relief, and tickets have nearly sold out for this year.

The 24 dancers have been spinning and shaking those hips in the corridors and classrooms over the past few weeks. Darcey, Shirley and the boys will be on hand with their ten paddles and the school's very own Tess and Claudia will be hosting.

“I am delighted that the A level students and staff have come together at such a busy time of year in the run up to the exams to have a moment of sheer joy and laughter away for the classroom. Well being is so important and time out to learn new skills and have a sense of fun is great for everyone. I would like to thank all of the local companies that have kindly donated raffle prizes and sponsored the event. This really is a community coming together,” said Strictly Sheldon organiser, Nicky Butterworth.
