SIXTH Formers at Devizes School celebrated National Women's Day with a visit by business leader Tracy Long.

Dr Long was at the school on Friday to talk to students about their aspirations and the principles for success.

She spoke to more than 50 teenagers in the technology, enterprise and design faculty as part of a visit organised by Speakers For Schools an organisation set up by ITV news political editor Robert Peston to help state schools access inspiring visitors.

Head of faculty Rachel Edwards said: "I am very excited that Speakers for schools has chosen Devizes School to host such a great speaker. I am very much looking forward to seeing the impact on students’ awareness of their opportunities and how their aspirations can be raised by a motivational role model such as Dr Long.

"Her experience and advice is invaluable and is something that our students can take with them when embarking on their future careers."

Dr Long's illustrious career involves working in international media companies. She was awarded the CBE in 2016 for services to governance in the public and private sectors. She was a founding director of Avalon Productions and Classic FM.
