LAUGHTER was the theme of a popular Family Fun Day, part of this year's Calne Wordfest .
The event on Saturday was organised in partnership with Calne Children's Centre, and offered an afternoon of silliness and laughter. Activities included a sensory corner for babies, food face-making, and a session of 'laughter yoga.'
Helen Bradley, one of the Wordfest trustees, said the fun day was a great success, with 25 adults and 33 children taking part.
"It was great!" she said. "This year the theme for the week is comedy and laughter."
Calne Wordfest is the town's annual literacy festival, and this year's comedy theme is a celebration of Monty Python and their Flying Circus - with signed freebies from the Pythons available through the week. Happenings include a joke trail in shop windows around the town, and a new digital story trail, created by 16 year old Liam Gal, with the story A Tale of Two Pigs, about the disappearance of Calne's famous bronze pigs, written by Elliot Millward.
