CLOGS is celebrating 40 years of performing in Chippenham with this year’s production, Blitz the musical.

The show will be performed at the Neeld, March 13 to 16 at 7.30pm, and March 16-17 at 2.30pm.

Blitz was written by Lionel Bart of Oliver! fame and the story centres on the relationship between a Jewish family, the Blitzteins, and a Cockney family, the Lockes, in 1940s London as the city is bombed. At first Mrs Blitztein and Alfie Locke can’t stand each other, but when their children fall in love and Hitler’s bombing intensifies, the families are able to bury the hatchet and become friends. The show has plenty of lively musical numbers, including Who’s This Geezer Hitler and Leave It to the Ladies.

“This year Clogs are celebrating their 40th Anniversary and thought this would be the perfect show as we also remember 70 years since the commencement of World War Two. It also gives us an opportunity to showcase our talented younger members, the Clogettes,” said Anne Holmes.
