Staff follow thief

MARLBOROUGH: Police arrested a Swindon man, 29, on suspicion of theft of alcohol from Waitrose. Staff in the High Street store followed him and took the registration of the car passing it to police who stopped him in Chiseldon.

Mouseman auction

PEWSEY: The Jubilee Auctions Saleroom on March 13, are auctioning a Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson bookcase presented to Cecil Crosthwaite in 1933, who was Director of the Tees Towing Company Ltd by ‘the masters and crews of his tugs’.

Pavilion can move

AVEBURY: Planners have given the thumbs up to the cricket club to allow them to move the pavilion. Plans are afoot to replace the existing pavilion with a modern one to be used by the whole community.

Road closure

MARLBOROUGH: The road between St Margaret's Mead and Queensway will be closed on Tuesday, March 5, from 9.30am-3.30pm, for roadworks, resurfacing and associated maintenance works.
