A FAMILY in Pewsey is helping to raise cash for the homeless charity Julian House in Bath with cakes and sleeping bags.

Vanessa Turner, 47, said the cause was close to her heart as she had once faced homelessness in the past after losing her business when she had a young family.

At the time she approached Wiltshire Council and they offered help but a man who also asked for help at the same time was denied leaving her wanting to help in the future. She and her daughter Lauren were taking part in the The Big Bath Sleep Out in Bath on the March 8, to raise cash for Julian House the charity that helps the homeless.

This Saturday (March 2) the family are holding a cake sale at the Co-op in Pewsey from 10am to 2pm to raise cash for the charity.

Pewsey Co-op's team leader Curtis Ryder said the store were happy to facilitate the cake sale as homelessness was something society needed to solve.

Vanessa's daughter Lauren has a Just Giving Page called Lauren's Page Bath Big Sleep Out.
