WILTSHIRE Police has sealed off a field outside Highworth

Asked whether the incident was connected to the case of murdered Linda Razzell, the force said it was keeping an open mind. Mrs Razzell’s husband, Glyn, was convicted in 2003 of her murder - but the body of the Highworth mother-of-four has never been found.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We are conducting some local enquiries in the Highworth area today (Friday 22 February) following information from a member of the public.

“As part of these enquiries, we have cordoned off an area in a field off Pentylands Lane. People in the local area are, therefore, likely to see an increased police presence in this area over the weekend. Our enquiries also include the use of police dogs.

“As these enquiries are at an early stage, it would be inappropriate to comment at further at this time.”
