A CANCER charity has launched an appeal to allow it to continue to run its mobile cancer care units in Wiltshire and the UK.

Hope for Tomorrow are the largest provider of Mobile Cancer Care to the NHS, but they receive no government funding.

In 2018, over 14,000 treatments were administered aboard their 12 Mobile Cancer Care Units (MCCUs) across 34 places in the UK,  including locations in South Wiltshire, Salisbury and Swindon.

It costs £198 per day to run an MCCU. The charity are hoping to raise £25,000 by the end of March; enough to fund one of their units for 126 days, or the entire fleet for approximately 10 days, and are asking the public to play your part in helping them reach this target.

Last year Hope for Tomorrow's founder, Christine Mills MBE, whose husband's long journey to the nearest oncology centre was the inspiration behind the Mobile Cancer Care Project, passed away from cancer in September.
