HE says he doesn't have a cunning plan but Tony Robinson does have a plan to fill the Cheese and Grain in Frome for his show An Evening With Sir Tony Robinson, on Sunday, June 9.

Best known for his roles in Blackadder as the hapless Baldrick and in later years as the presenter of the long running Time Team series Tony will enlarge on his career as an actor with anecdotes and stories.

However there is more to Tony than many people may know.

Born in London in 1946, his first professional appearance was at the age of 13 in the original stage production of the musical Oliver.

A career as comedian, actor and presenter followed with a stint on the children's TV series Play Away, an appearance in the documentary Joey and acting alongside John Wayne in the film Brannigan.

His autobiography No Cunning Plan, was published in 2016 and he has extensively toured his one-man stage show across the country including a season at the Edinburgh Festival.

The show will be in two halves with Tony performing in the first part and regaling some of his enthralling exploits in the second along with a question and answer session.

He has also become an author as a writer of children's novels, and is also known for his political activism.

He was grilled on TV's Loose Women about his second marriage.

In 2013 he was knighted rising as Sir Tony Robinson - a far cry from the humble Baldrick
