A DEBATE on Brexit is to be held on March 1 in Devizes by supporters of remaining in the European Union.

Devizes For EU has organised the evening in the Ceres Hall of the Corn Exchange at 7.30pm to give people the chance to quiz experts.

Speakers will be Tom Dolphin an NHS doctor and BMA Council member, Clare Moody and Julie Girling, both South West members of the European Parliament.

The sort of questions they will be answering will include what will prospects be for people if there is a no deal Brexit and how will Brexit of any kind affect individuals.

Kate Freeman, organiser of Devizes for EU, said: “Even if Westminster’s politicians ever prove themselves able to agree on the answers to these questions themselves, what could be more important than finding out what we – the people – think?

"If public opinion mattered so much in 2016, why not in 2019? We stand on the brink of the biggest single change in our external relations for over 40 years."

The event is free but booking is needed via EventBrite on www.devizesforeu.uk.
