NEGOTIATIONS are underway to fix Malmesbury's historic Grade I listed Market Cross, which was damaged by a vehicle in November.
An engineer has produced a specification of required work by the conservation officer at Wiltshire Council and the engineer for Historic England. The town council said their insurance company has given authority to go out for tender to the three specialist companies.
"This is a lengthy process mainly because of all the consents required before involving specialist contractors. However we hope that work will be commencing soon so that the Market Cross is restored once again."
