IF you are looking for something to do with the children or if you want to get outside and connect with nature, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust has launched a programme of workshops, family days and camping packages.

Take inspiration from the glorious nature which surrounds you and turn it into a beautiful piece of art. Workshops include stained glass, autumn leaves, stone carving, basket weaving, spoon whittling, botanical illustrations plus numerous others.

Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is also keen to get people passionate about traditional rural skills such as orchard pruning, woodland coppicing and hazel hurdle making. Individuals can play an important role in keeping these traditional skills alive, which are vital in preserving the distinctive and unique landscape that we see around us. These courses are informative, practical and help make a noticeable and lasting contribution to the landscape and its wildlife.

If you are looking for something to do during school holidays, there are plenty of family activity days on trust reserves, including Forest Fairies &Woodland Wizards, Pumpkin Carving & Mystery Trail and Bushcraft taster sessions.

This year the trust is also offering three small, relaxed family camps. Spend the night under the stars and during the day choose from a range of activities or take time to wander and explore. Camps are hosted and facilitated by Wiltshire Wildlife Trust staff. You can spend time with your children foraging and fire-making, playing games, shelter-building, whittling, bushcraft, cooking outdoors and making new friends.

You also get the opportunity to meet the wildlife by setting cameras, moth traps, using bat detectors and setting small mammal hotels. For more information, visit www.wiltshirewildlife.org/events
