Affairs of the heart will be paramount at the award-winning Chippenham Pit Stop near Draycott Cerne on St Valentine's Day - but it won't have anything to do with romance.
The Pit Stop people will be offering free blood pressure checks today. Pit Stop health campaigns coordinator and former Bristol nurse Lisa Hatherell said everyone needed to know their blood pressure numbers but it was particularly important for truckers who sat behind a wheel all day.
"Keeping a healthy heart is synonymous with healthy eating and our High Performance Breakfast, including poached eggs, bacon, toast and tomato, weighs in at under 500 calories and has already been given the thumbs up by our customers," she said
Besides running monthly health campaigns, for its trucker and local customers, the Pit Stop has also installed an outside exercise gym and a round trip country walk.
