VILLAGERS in Christian Malford organised a surprise send-off for local post office and store assistant George May.
George has been assisting his mother and father in running a number of local sub-post offices in the area since leaving school but is moving to London to start a new life.
Always popular with the locals and also a key player in the village cricket team, villagers were sad to see him leave but were also keen to send him off with their very best wishes.
Resident, Mary Davies, organised a secret collection and presentation to make sure that his last day in the village was a memorable one. Around 50 people gathered in the store to ambush him on his return from lunch.
