UFFCOTT: Police report that a number of suspects with four dogs appeared at fields at Homefields near Broad Hinton on February 4, at around 2pm. Rural police are taking action to trace the offenders. Another suspected offence took place the day before at Aldbourne.
Graffiti cleaned
AVEBURY: The smashed glazing at the bus shelter has been replaced, parish councillors heard at last week's meeting. And graffiti was also removed from the shelter.
Oil stolen
BAYDON: Thieves have stolen 750 litres of oil overnight from a householder's tank in the village worth £500. A white transit van was scene nearby on February 5. Three weeks earlier 200 litres had been siphoned from the tank.
Green fingers
SHALBOURNE: The next meeting of the village gardening club will be on March 5, when Jane Elliman will talk about and demonstrate ancient garden implements in the village hall at 7.30pm.
Road closed
MARLBOROUGH: The A4 Bath Road from the High Street to Golding Avenue will be closed between 7pm and 6am tomorrow (February 15) for road works.
