Thousands of people visit Avebury for events like the solstice causing parking problems
A RESIDENT’S parking permit scheme was aired this week at Avebury’s parish council meeting.
Cllr Lynzey Paradise raised the possibility following continued parking problems in the village.
She said many visitors don't use the National Trust car park but park illegally in the High Street, Green Street and on the triangle.
However Wiltshire Cllr Jane Davies doubted if the village would qualify for the plan despite the thousands of visitors who come to Avebury for events like the summer solstice.
Cllr Paradise said she would make enquiries with Wiltshire.
