Police have stepped up their campaign on drug drivers
THERE has been a large increase in drug drivers the Marlborough Area Board heard, and police now have the ability to test drivers at the roadside.
On January 23, police in the Marlborough stopped a car leaving the Waitrose car park who proved positive using the police force's drug-wipe while cannabis was also found in the car.
Police said they had made a number of this type of arrests in the area recently including one where six men were arrested who also had illegal batons in their vehicle.
In another incident a PCSO in Marlborough spotted two men who turned out to have illegal drugs on them when searched.
