PUPILS at Westbury Leigh School have been enjoying taking care of the animals kept at the school farm.
Shearwater Farm, set within the school grounds, is home to chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats and guinea pigs.
The farm provides an outdoor learning resource accessible to the whole school and local community groups.
A spokesman from Westbury Leigh said: “We believe that children can benefit educationally and emotionally, increase their understanding of responsibility and develop empathy and nurturing skills, through contact with our school farm animals.
“In addition to these benefits, children take great enjoyment from being on the farm with animals. By having a school farm we want to encourage those children who are vulnerable, or those less confident, to look forward to being part of the farm.
“Without the support of regular parent volunteers and the kind donations of local businesses the farm wouldn’t be able to run.”
The Shearwater Farm has it's own Amazon wishlist where people can show their support.
