CHIPPENHAM Hospital Radio, which broadcasts to patients, staff and visitors at at the hospital and online to the world via its website, has launched an appeal for volunteers.

If you could spare a few hours a week, the radio station needs presenters, ward visitors, sports reporters and IT or audio technicians, as well as administration roles including secretary, hospital liaison officer and fund-raising co-ordinator.

The radio station, a registered charity, plays music from the 1960s to the present, as well as details of local events, sport and up to date news.

Station manager Simon Hyde said: “We’re looking to grow our volunteer team in 2019 and it would be great to hear from anyone who can give us a hand. Volunteering at Chippenham Hospital Radio not only gives you a sense of satisfaction and a new experience but also new skills and knowledge to either launch into a career of your choosing or just to enjoy as a unique and fun hobby.”

Full training and support is provided - all you need is to be a good communicator, with a passion for producing good local radio and the time to make a regular commitment.
