A CHARITY based in Pewsey that helps struggling families is seeking new volunteers as it expands into new areas of Wiltshire.
Home-Start Kennet's volunteers help families with young children deal with the challenges they face in the Marlborough, Pewsey, Devizes and Tidworth areas.
However from February they will be covering Calne and Chippenham as well as they extend their support into those towns.
Joanne Kent the charity's fundraiser said volunteers are given full training and often come from teaching, social work, and health care backgrounds. Empathy, being non-judgemental and having confidence with working with the general public were important qualities.
Rose Pearce who lives In Winterbourne Basset said she had volunteered after a career in teaching and had found it very rewarding.
The charity's family support organiser Alison Sage said struggling families were usually referred to the organisation by a doctor or a health visitor. To find out more visit www.home-start.org.uk
