IT may not look like a glitzy restaurant on the outside, but St Peter’s Coffee Shop in Marlborough has gained a reputation for the standard of its cooking.

The café come restaurant in the former place of worship is listed as number two on TripAdvisor’s ratings of where to eat in Wiltshire beating of competition from more famous establishments.

Owners David and Debbie Panzetta have run the eatery for eight years and put their success down to good quality cooking with everything prepared by hand. The menu includes such favourites as venison stew, game pie and faggots mash and peas.

Mr Panzetta said: “We are rated by TripAdvisor as the number one café in the county and number two restaurant. We have run it for eight years, but it is only in the last two years the word has spread. Now we get people travelling a long way to have lunch here.”
