THE rise of machines and the future of employment in the digital age will be discussed at an inspirational talk.

Part of Wiltshire Council’s free #EPIC Talk series, the event on January 29 features Rachel Neaman, who runs her own consultancy firm. She will explore the impact of the fourth industrial revolution on the future of employment, and the implications and consequences of the accelerating pace of tech-change on the workforce.

She specialises in digital transformation, skills and inclusion and extensive senior leadership experience in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors in the UK and internationally.

Jo Pitt, Wiltshire Council director for human resources and organisational development, said: “We are delighted to have someone of Rachel’s standing in the industry to speak at our event. Our hope is that these events spark conversations, ideas and debates and the response so far has been great.”

Rachel said: “There is no better time to discuss the realities and the myths of this new world and to look at the implications for jobs, skills and the economy."

The talk is at at County Hall, Trowbridge from 5:30pm to 7pm. Visit epictalks.eventbrite.co.uk to book.

Other speakers lined up for future #EPIC Talks are Margaret Heffernan (21 March 2019), an international entrepreneur, CEO, author and TED speaker and Simon Tyler (23 May 2019), a motivational author and life coach.
