PEWSEY’s annual Christmas Day lunch for those who would normally dine alone on the day went off without a hitch.
Held at the Bouverie Hall around 30 diners sat down to a traditional turkey roast with all the trimmings along with a choice of puddings, cheese and biscuits, coffee and accompanying drinks.
Brian Hollands of the Community Dinner Committee said they wanted to thank the many helpers who volunteered their time as well as those who provided the food, support and raffle prizes.
These included the local supermarkets, The Shed Alehouse, the Pewsey Carnival, McNeill Gallery, Barbers Home, the parish council, the Zixex Club, the Bouverie Hall committee, Marr Green Farm Shop, the Nettlefolds, Mr Giles, Mr Stephens, Mr Collings, Mr Hampshire, People Value, Heidi Gorvin and Sue Curnick.
Mr Hollands said the event had been going for around five years and was well supported by the community although it was sometimes hard to find those who wished to dine on the day.
