FANS of Calne Rugby collected presents for children during a league game against Sutton Benger RFC on Saturday last week - and then took them to the children's ward at the Great Western Hospital to spread a little Christmas cheer.
The club, which is sponsored by Bevirs Law, ended the match against Sutton Benger on a 17-17 draw - but took away the prize of festive generosity nonetheless as players and supporters from both teams go involved and donated a pile of presents that even Santa would be proud of.
They handed them over to Lisa Utting and Catherine Newman of Brighter Futures, the charity for Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Calne Rugby chairman Simon Walker said: “ The response was overwhelming and at this time of year, it’s important to remember those that are poorly and in hospital.
"I would like to extend our thanks to our friends at Sutton Benger for getting involved."
