Glittering Christmas trees, beautifully decorated to express the theme of ‘What Christmas means to me,’ filled St Bart’s church in Corsham last week.
The 2018 Christmas Tree Festival was organised by church warden L’Nora Olney and her team to raise awareness of the parish church. The festival began with twelve trees in 2007 and has grown in popularity with 27 trees filling the church this year.
Children's group, local organisations and businesses contributed trees for the festival and the winning entry, judged by Joe and Jilly Suitters of the the Corsham Photographic Club, was the tree decorated by Toby Haynes Butcher's. The People's Choice - from a visitors' vote - was the tree decorated by Corsham Hardware.
"A lot of people decorated their trees using ideas about family," L'nora said. "That was the overwhelming theme."
The festival opened on the night of Corsham Christmas Lights-on.
