AN inquest opened this afternoon into the death of a Devizes man who died when a pick-up truck collided with a car in Gloucestershire.
The coroner's court in Gloucester was told that Ray Westlake of Westminster Close, Devizes died from multiple injuries in the crash which happened around 9.15am on December 9.
Barry Clow from Coventry, who was the driver of a grey Nissan car, also died in the accident. The full inquest into the death of both men will take place on May 21.
Mr Westlake, 74, was a passenger in the Ford pick-up which was driven by a 63-year-old man from Devizes. The driver was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
Another 61-year-old man from Devizes, who was a passenger in the truck, was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
The accident happened on the A424 between Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford.
