BENDY Bow in Oaksey will be regenerated by housing association GreenSquare, with 12 older houses to be demolished and replaced by 24 new, affordable homes.

Wiltshire Council approved the plans last week (28 November) for the energy efficient homes, which will be a mixture of shared ownership and social renting.

Over the past 18 months GreenSquare has been working closely with residents, Oaksey Parish Council and Wiltshire Council, to explore opportunities to bring affordable homes to the village and redevelop some areas in Bendy Bow.

Phil Bowley, head of strategic asset management at GreenSquare said: “We are very pleased to have our plans for Bendy Bow approved and are excited to now move forward with regenerating the area.

“We will continue to work together with residents, the parish and Wiltshire councils as we progress. This is a fantastic opportunity to make real improvements for existing and new residents and will also benefit the wider community.”

It is hoped to begin the first stage of the development work by summer 2019.

GreenSquare has also provided funding to support Oaksey’s Well Garden Project, which is already taking great shape. The aim of the project is to create a wildlife friendly garden.
