THE spirit of Christmas is flourishing as donations are pouring in for this year's Christmas Toy Appeal.
Organised by the Salvation Army, the annual appeal ensures struggling families have presents to give their children. This week, a consignment of around 150 gifts donated at Chippenham Sainsbury's was delivered, and another big crate of toys is coming from the Wilkinson's collecting point.
Major Dawn McGarvey said: "We don't have many donations for teenagers, to if you want to buy something for them, perhaps a football or some make-up, that would be welcome."
Last year the appeal was able to provide 100 food boxes, as well as gifts for over 250 children. Donations of toys are needed for boys and girls aged up to 16.
Donations must be new and unwrapped, and can be dropped at Sainsbury's, Wilkinson's, at estate agents Goodman, Warren and Beck, Argos, the office of MP Michelle Donelan, or the Salvation Army in Foghamshire.
