A DEVIZES pre-school held a celebration after it was declared outstanding in all areas by Ofsted inspectors.

Families and staff of Little Bears nursery which is based at Nursteed School in Brickley Lane joined together for a special lunch after hearing the good news.

Early years leader Theresa Lye said: "I am so proud of the team around Little Bears Preschool to receive a second outstanding reinforces their dedication and passion for the early years.

"We are a small committee run charity which relies on the support of parents to keep running. The early years is crucial to children's future development. This is what we can achieve when we all work together."

Committee chairman and pre-school director Ginette Peach also praised the team and manager. She said: "The outstanding OFSTED report is a credit to the staff team and the manager who do excellent work with our children.

"I wish to thank them for their hard work and professionalism. They are an experienced and enthusiastic team this enables us to give all the children at Little Bears the best start to their education by supporting their learning and development."

Treasurer and director Elizabeth Martch-Harry said: "Everyone has worked so hard with the children and families to make Little Bears a fantastic setting. They have recieved outstanding from OFSTED for a second time which is quite an achievement."

The inspectors were full of praise for the school and in a report said: "The highly experienced manager inspires her staff, who are keen to demonstrate their excellent practice.

"Staff are eager to develop and share their knowledge and skills, which helps them achieve very high standards. Staff pay great attention to meeting children's individual needs.

"Children are highly motivated and absorbed in their play. Staff encourage children to think creatively, persevere and find their own ways to do things. Children make rapid progress and gain the skills they need in readiness for starting school."
