The wife of Chris Kempson, the man who died following a collision with a car in Chippenham, has paid tribute to her husband, a devoted father and dedicated physiotherapist.

Wiltshire police are still appealing for witnesses after the collision on Lowden Hill at around 3.30am on November 11, between Mr Kempson and a Black Vauxhall Vectra which was travelling towards the Bath Road. Mr Kempson was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath, where he died from his injuries.

Mr Kempson, 37, leaves his wife Louise and daughter Juliet, aged two.

Originally from Worthing, West Sussex, he moved to Chippenham for work. Mrs Kempson said they met through work in 2009 and within three months, had set off to New Zealand together. They got engaged and returned to the UK in 2011.

Not long after, Louise was diagnosed with breast cancer. She said Chris was her rock throughout treatment and in 2012 they celebrated their marriage at Bristol Zoo.

In 2015, Chris set up the CK Clinic, which Mrs Kempson described as his lifelong dream, and the same year found out he was to become a father, against the odds.

"He was overjoyed when Juliet arrived and was smitten from the start, taking any opportunity to show off his daughter. They developed a special bond and he loved to take her swimming every week," she said.

"The clinic began to grow, as did the team, and recently moved to a larger premises on Bumpers Farm and Chris could not have been happier and was so proud of his achievements and the team behind him.

"Chris was passionate about physiotherapy and improving the quality of patients lives, he genuinely cared and many saw him as a friend not just a physio.

"Chris lived life to the full going off hiking, shooting, playing the guitar, watching rugby and was a member of Chippenham golf club.

"Chris was in the middle of his masters and one day dreamed of being a doctor. Chris made a difference in the world and to the community of Chippenham."

She said he would be deeply missed by his family and friends, but most of all by herself and their daughter Juliet.

His wish was for the clinic to continue, with Louise as sole director of CK Clinic, to keep his legacy alive.
