Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was knocked over by an elderly man on a mobility scooter in Devizes town centre.

At 9am on October 5, a man on a mobility scooter knocked a woman over while she was walking on the pavement where Snuff Street joins Market Place.

The woman, who is aged in her 50s, suffered three broken bones in her wrist as a result of the incident. The man was helped back onto his mobility scooter by members of the public and then left the scene.

Sergeant Mark Simpson said: “It is possible that the man was unaware of the severity of the incident when he decided to leave the scene, but we do need to identify him so we can speak to him about exactly what happened.

“The victim suffered injuries to her wrist and is receiving ongoing treatment.

“If anyone recognises the man pictured, please get in touch via 101 and quote crime reference number 54180097536.”
